Western background with mountains and the letters E V I E in cartoonish text

This picture is from my first Scratch session on day 1 at coding summer camp. I programmed it to do more than sit there.

When you start the program, the first letter “E” will make a meow sound. The letter “I” will ask you your name with a box to enter it. Once you’ve entered your name, the letter says “hmmm…” The “V” moves around, and the second “E” says “hello.”

Progress in Japanese Since August 2016

Evie was a class leader today and oh my, her Japanese is SO good. I was volunteering at the Japanese class and she made me so surprised. I thought it will take longer for those kids who don’t speak Japanese at home to begin to understand it, but she has no accident and even talked herself in Japanese. She was drawing and said “oops. I forgot about this” in Japanese! I think she has a better accent than my son!
